Cinemas in Tokyo

Tokyo has a long list of halls and theatres to entertain its cinema enthusiasts. The cinema halls of Tokyo screen a variety of films and film events to boost indigenous and foreign cinemas alike.

Chanter Cine
is one of the most visited halls of the city. It is a multi screened complex with three different halls. Chanter Cine plays a key role in promoting experimental films, and thus provides a platform to the independent ventures. The hall also screens famous foreign films that can hardly be seen in the other halls. Mostly European and American films are shown here. Award winning works of film makers from Asia, Africa, and the Middle East are often featured.

Athenée Français Cultural Center:

National Film Centre:
With two big screens, the centre is a true patron of Japanese documentary. The old silent films revived from Russia are also treasured here. the place also has a good library and museum for the film enthusiasts.
