I used to stay at the Okura in the early '90s and then would to put my company's visitors there after I moved to Tokyo. Its been about 15 years since I last stayed in the hotel, and it has lost not a spec of the elegance and class it has always had. The service defines Japanese excellence in that area. The decor defines Japanese elegance. The location near the US ambassador's residence and many embassies is in the heart of Tokyo

Okura is very accommodating and pampers its guests. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet, larger than other hotels. I slept well albeit the jet lag. The amenities were varied and extensive. The location is close to Tokyo Tower. Taxis are always there at your beck and call. High end shopping is available within the confines of the hotel. Grocery and pharmacy shopping is close by. WiFi is available for 24 hr with fee. Restaurants provide both a change of scenery and reasonable rates for a la carte, buffet is offered as well. It is very close to the American Embassy.
